The Scotland Woman’s National Team have qualified for their first ever World Cup last night. After the fantastic win over Switzerland last week the win over Albania was enough to secure top spot in the group and automatic qualification. The draw for France 2019 takes place on December 8th.
Ticketing Issues
The SSC are working with their software provider to resolve these issues, and understand our frustrations. They have also agreed to meet with reps from ATAC in the coming weeks to discuss the ticketing issues, and other matters, in the coming weeks.
WEBATA win the ATAC 7s
The ATAC 7s took place this afternoon on a glorious sunny day in the West of Scotland. 7 teams took part in a competitive set of games played in a friendly environment at GOALS Glasgow West. A number of former Scotland internationals and former manager Craig Brown welcomed the teams on the day.
There were 7 teams in the competition and it was the West End Bar Airdrie Tartan Army (WEBATA) that were the dominant team on the day winning all 6 group matches and the final without conceding a goal to take home the trophy.
Falkirk and District Tartan Army were the closest to them only losing 1-0 to the winners in the opening match and then by the same scoreline in the final. All seven teams played against each other in the group stage and the original plan was for the top 4 to compete in 2 semi-finals however with time running on this was changed to just the top 2 going straight to the final.
The hosts WESTA had 2 teams in the tournament with very contrasting results; the A team were 3rd only missing out on the final on goal difference but unfortunately their B team finished 7th (also known as last) after losing all 6 matches. ETA would have been the other semi-finalists finishing 4th in the group with a costly 0-0 draw against the SFA team preventing them reaching the final. KTA were the other team who ended up 5th just ahead of the SFA.
A fantastic day all round, with big thanks to WESTA for hosting and especially Kevin Troy who organised the event alongside GOALS. Thanks to all clubs and their players who made the event a success and congratulations again to WEBATA for a very worthy win.
